Hop Code: a first coding game for kids
Hop Code is a beginner coding game: children lay arrow tiles in a row to plan Noori's hops to the masjid, then press play to watch the plan run step by step. If Noori bumps a hedge, they fix the arrows and try again.
How to play
- 1Drag an arrow into the hop strip — or tap an arrow to add it.
- 2Press play and watch Noori follow your arrows one by one.
- 3Bumped a hedge? The tile that went wrong wiggles — change it and run again.
- 4On level 3, the strip is short: use the ×2 and ×3 tiles to repeat the arrow before them.
What your child learns
- Sequencing instructions and planning ahead
- Debugging: finding and fixing a mistake
- Direction words and counting steps
- Loops: repeating a step with ×2 and ×3 on the hardest level
For grown-ups
Play “robot” at home: your child gives you hop instructions — “two steps forward, turn right” — to reach the door. Getting it wrong and fixing it is the whole point of coding.
